We're so excited about Christmas number 3 together as a family. The best part is, this is the first year we've lived in a place big enough to actually put up a decent-sized Christmas tree (we got quite a deal on a great-looking, slim, 7.5-ft. artificial Yonkers pine)! Bow-chicka-wow-wow! Spencer put on the lights on, Whitney did the beads and the star, and we both helped with the ornaments. We love plugging it in every night.
We have a few other decorations put up in the house, too. But perhaps our all-time favorites are our stockings. We got two stockings for us -- the snowman for Spencer (snowmen have always been his Christmas decoration of choice; his stocking growing up also had a snowman on it), and the Santa for Whitney. We both really like how they're a matching set.
This year, when we were shopping for Christmas things, we found the third stocking -- the penguin. We knew it belonged at our house. We got him and brought him home, all the way saying, "Now Baby will HAVE to come, when he/she sees this awesome stocking waiting for them!"
So we hung the stocking above the TV with care, in hopes that our Baby will soon be here.
In the meantime, we'll just tell everyone it's for our puppy, Lizzy.
